je cite le post important :
Edit: Due to popular demand, Bloodlust has been removed from this talent tree and has been replaced with a new talent, Spirit Link. Also, Ancestral healing has been brought down to 5% per rank.
The following is just an example of how the restoration tree could be revamped to make all of the talents more appealing.
My inspiration for this writeup are the brilliant hunter and druid talent changes, which not only make most talents worth picking up, but also give you a few abilities that help you out in other areas. Heart of the wild from druids helps give you a boost in caster mode, intimidation and scatter shot give you more surviability, insect swarm helps resto druids do more damage, lightning reflexes help survival hunters do more damage, etc.
Especially for a hybrid class like the shaman, this design makes sense. You will obviously be a better healer if you spec restoration, but you should have a talent or two that help make up for your lacking melee and offensive spell casting abilities.
The number next to the talent name will show the number of ranks .Without further rambling, here are my talent suggestions for the restoration tree with explanations attached for things that have been changed.
TIER ONE
Improved healing wave (5)
Reduces the casting time of your Healing Wave spell by .1/.2/.3/.4/.5 sec[/1]
Tidal focus (5)
[I] Reduces the mana cost of your healing spells by 1% (per rank)
TIER TWO
Improved reincarnation (2)
Reduces the cooldown of your Reincarnation spell by 10 min. Additionally, upon Reincarnating, you will have an additional 5% of your total health and mana (per rank).
(This change would make the talent more wanted by pvpers, as the spell would be better for popping up and surprising the enemy every forty minutes. Reincarnation will still remain inferior to a soulstone, even with this talent, as I think it should be.)
Ancestral Healing (5)
Increases your target's armor value from items by 5% (per rank) for 15 sec after getting a critical effect from one of your healing spells.
Soothing Springs (5)
Increases effects of your Healing Stream Totem and Mana Spring Totem by 4% (per rank) and increases their durations by 2 seconds (per rank).
The largest complaint about the restoration tree is the about the clumsy "improved totem" talents that you are forced to take to get mana tide totem. This change slightly nerfs some of those talents and puts them together in a nice package that is more appealing to "want" to take, not "have" to take.
TIER THREE
Mana Tide Totem (1)
-Requires 5 points in Soothing Springs.-
Summons a Mana Tide Totem with 5 health at the feet of the caster for 12 sec that restores 200 mana every 3 seconds to group members within 20 yards. 10 min cooldown
This talent needed a nerf to accompany its lower placement on the tree. It still serves its purpose of providing the group with emergency mana when it's needed.
Improved Lesser Healing Wave (5)
Gives you 15% chacne to avoid interruption caused by damage while casting Lesser Healing Wave.[i]
Improved Chain Heal (2)
[I] Lessens the reduction of the amount healed by 10% on both "jumps." Also increases the range that the heal will bounce to by 2/5 yards
This talent helps make chain heal both more reliable and more useful.
TIER FOUR
Tidal Mastery (5)
Increases the critical effect chance of your healing and lightning spells by 1%
Indominable Resistance (5)
Increases the resistance values of Fire Resistance Totem, Frost Resistance Totem, and Nature Resistance totems by 3 (per rank).
These extra resistances would be very valuable in many raid situations (especially the fire and nature reistance totems), and would also be helpful in many PvP situations.
TIER FIVE
Nature's Swiftness (1)
When activated, your next Nature spell with a casting time less then 10 sec becomes an isntant cast spell. Three minute cooldown.
The requirement of 5 points in Tidal Mastery has been removed to encourage more variety in builds.
Natural Strength (5)
When the Shaman strikes an enemy in melee combat, all members of his party will be healed for 2/4/6/8/10% of the damage dealt. This includes damage from Flametounge and Frostband procs.
This talent feels like a good fit for many reasons. One, it helps buff a heavy restoration shaman's ability to solo, as grinding in full restoration talents is pretty awful. Two, it helps flesh out the hybrid part of the shaman more. In a group with another healer, a shaman can contribute to the damage of the group while making the main healer's job a little easier. The shaman will obviously do less melee damage if specced in this tree, and this will help offset it a tad. Finally, it might help create some more unique healing styles. Instead of the healing shaman just hanging out in the back, he can risk meleeing while waiting to heal, deciding to generate more aggro for in order to increase his healing output.
TIER SIX
Purification (5)
Increases the effectiveness of your healing spells by 2% (per rank)
TIER SEVEN
Spirit Link (1)
This ability can only be used on an allied unit in your party. When cast, all threat caused by you will be transfered to the targeted ally. Additionally, half of the damage you take is transferred to the same person (you take the other half), but the damage that person takes is not shared with you. Lasts 12 seconds, 3 minute cooldown. A target can only have one Spirit Link on them at a time, and will recieve a debuff called "Broken Link" that will not allow another Spirit Link to be cast for 3 minutes. There is no mana cost and this is instant cast.
One of the most wanted things for healing shamans is a way to reduce aggro you cause, and this talent is amazing for aggro control. If many mobs are hitting you, this can help you quickly get the mobs angry at the tank and allow him to take some of the damage you are taking until things get under control. It is also nice for PvP when you are targetted right away for healing everyone. In order to keep it from being overpowered in helping a tank keep aggro, the person you use it on will recieve a debuff called "Broken Link," that lasts five minutes and prevents them from being Spirit Linked until it is gone. You have to be partied with the person you use it on in order to not allow the shaman to use it on any random person walking by that doesn't want to share your damage.[ post edited by Nert ]
